I believe in simple ideas, strong relationships, and lasting impact.
Big ideas, real impact.
There are so many things that are important to me in the legal field. In my practice there are three projects that are close to my heart. There are a great many aspects of the legal field that I hold in high regard, and within my practice there are three distinct projects that are particularly close to my heart—each reflecting a core value I uphold. All three help me focus on providing compassionate, client-centered advocacy for individuals facing complex matters; devote to community outreach and legal education, empowering underserved populations with knowledge of their rights; and concentrate appellate work and policy initiatives aimed at reforming systemic injustices, together forming the foundation of my professional commitment and guiding every decision I make as an attorney.

Working alongside a good friend and colleague, I’m proud to help people stand up for their First Amendment rights. The Parachute Project is all about protecting and promoting the freedoms of speech, press, assembly, and petition—whether that’s by representing clients directly or advocating for positive policy changes. My clients come from all walks of life: journalists, individuals, and organizations with a wide range of viewpoints, united by the need to have their voices heard. I’m here to defend free speech—whether that means standing up to libel suits meant to intimidate, or supporting those who face backlash from the government, employers, or schools for speaking out. I also work on strategic cases to strengthen important First Amendment protections at both the state and federal levels. If you’d like to know more or need support, please feel free to reach out—I’m always happy to connect!

Having an arrest or conviction shouldn’t hold you back from building a better future. I understand that the process of gathering court documents, preparing reports, and working with the District Attorney’s office can feel overwhelming—and the costs can be a real barrier for many people. That’s why I’m here to support and guide you through every step of sealing your criminal history. For so many, one mistake from the past keeps creating challenges even years later, especially now that background checks are just a click away for jobs or housing. This ongoing exposure isn’t fair, and it’s my goal to help break that cycle. If you have a criminal record, let’s talk about your situation and see if you might qualify for a fresh start. I’d be glad to help you move forward.

Sadly, many people in our country have been wrongly convicted, often because of a justice system that sometimes overlooks mistakes and doesn’t always prioritize fairness. More innocent people are sitting in jails and prisons today than ever before, and the growing number of exonerations shows that our system isn’t always as reliable as it should be. Problems like a lack of accountability for police and prosecutors, reliance on unreliable science or mistaken witnesses, and challenges for those who can’t afford a strong defense all play a role in these injustices. These issues have hurt the credibility of our justice system and deeply affected the lives of innocent individuals and their families. I am passionate about challenging wrongful convictions and shedding light on cases where innocent people have been incarcerated. I carefully research and investigate cases involving issues like mistaken identity, DNA evidence, forensic science problems, the use of jailhouse informants, and questions about legal representation. Along the way, I’ve gained experience with motion practice, negotiation, fact investigation, trial and appellate work, and addressing ethical concerns. If you’d like to learn more or talk about a specific situation, please feel free to reach out—I’m here to help.
